Rent a boat and have them drop you off at the ranger station dock further down the isle on the bay side. There is an alligator in the pond, and a quick walk across the island gets you to a very empty stretch of beach. Great for shelling after a storm
Shells for days. Bring bug spray the horsefly's are bad. We were there for a few hours and didn't make it very far due to the number of shells.
